Life Time Fitness Selects SumTotal Learning Management Software
May 31, 2007 @ Talent Management, Knowledge Management & Performance Management & eLearning from SEO Expert
Life Time Fitness, which offers comprehensive health, family recreation, sports and spa facilities that deliver the best professional exercise programs, certified specialists and state-of-the-art equipment, aims to use the SumTotal LMS to complement Life Time University’s curriculum.
"Our goal is to drive increased connectivity among a broader, dynamic population of learners," said Jess Elmquist, senior director of Life Time University. "With our company’s ever-increasing growth, we have reached the point where we must look beyond the traditional training methods used in the past."
With an LMS in place, Life Time Fitness expects to deliver a broader curriculum to a larger audience and do so in a shorter time frame. For example, Life Time Fitness will deliver online training materials in advance of the formal training courses that are held at the company's training center in Minnesota. This will allow instructors to spend more time exploring advanced topics and less time on basic informational elements.
"We believe our company is growing, in part, due to our focus on education and innovation," added Elmquist. "We are unwavering in our commitment to provide customers with an unparalleled experience each and every day, and we achieve this by continuously improving the experience and development of every team member, every year."
To improve each team member's experience at Life Time Fitness, Life Time University is committed to team-member education and development. SumTotal's software will deliver an easily accessible online hub that will facilitate this goal. Additionally, SumTotal's content management software, TotalLCMS, will provide Life Time Fitness with a way to convert courses currently used for classroom instruction into an online learning environment.
